Q: Tire substitute for an Infiniti G35 with sport suspension?
I like the performance of the Bridgestone Potenza that comes standard but I don't like spending $1600 for a net set. I have a 2006 G35 coupe that has 19" wheels. Anyone know of a good substitute?

A: Your not going to find a tire like the Bridgestone's elsewhere. The only less expensive alternative available in both the front and rear sizes is the Kuhmo Ecsta SPT. Not a bad tire but chances are you will feel the difference. They run about $100 less per tire compared to the Potenza RE050. Tires are one of those things where more often than not you get what you pay for.

Q: infiniti g35, and nissan 350z what are the differences and are there better cars for 20k?

A: The Infiniti is basically more upscale than 350Z, so if you like luxury, go for the infiniti, but I think the 350Z is luxurious enough, especially since most of them come with leather... so its really up to, be sure to personally look at both cars to see which one you like best, and make sure you buy them from reputable dealers, ask for a carfax history report.

Q: Why do people say the Scion tC copied the Infiniti G35 in exterior design?
When the Scion tC was first coming out in 2005, Compact Car Magazine issued an article introducing the car to car enthuses in America. They stated, "Some think the car's profile (Scion tC) and proportions steal from the Infiniti G35 Coupe" Why do people think this? The Scion tC doesn't look anything similar to the Infiniti G35. Can someone please explain?

A: I disagree. It does have some characteristics. But that does not matter. cause the tC is one sick ride. Even off the lot as is. Sorry couldn't give a more direct answer. I just love to give props to Scion xB and tC.

Q: Is it absolutely necessary to use 93 octane gas in an Infiniti G35 and why?
The manual says it's required. So does the Infiniti dealer. I have put in a few tanks if 87 octane and the car seems to run just as well.

A: Wow you spent 35000 on a nice car and now you're wondering if it's okay to save $2 a tank by using a gas that is not recommended by the manufacturer? New ECU's are smart enough to pull timing at the first sign of knock and so it will feel like the car is running fine but that doesn't mean it is. You may have lost some power and if you give it too much gas on a hot day it may do damage to the motor. The makers of the car tuned the engine to run on premium fuel to make the car run as efficiently as possible. You should have bought an Accord if you are just going to ruin the motor. If you are so broke that you need the $2 dollars a tank you save, you should have bought a cheaper car.

A: I have an 03 with 36,000 miles. I love this car, no problems so far. It handles well, is fast. I changed the exhaust and the intake, for a total cost of only $600 and increased the power a bit (See the Stillen catalogue at Stillen.com). I recommend it highly. What else compares? The Acura TL is FWD and has torque steer--the Lexus in that year is much less powerful, and even if you go to the IS350 you pay $10k more.

Q: Can I make navigation work with the screen in my infiniti g35?
My G35 has a display screen, but not the built in navigation. Is it possible to purchase navigation and wire it in to work with the screen? If so where.

A: I'm afraid not. In addition to the screen, there's additional buttons and controls that are not part of your car's dash now. However, there are aftermarket navigation systems with radio and CD player that can replace your current radio and CD player. The Pioneer AVIC-N3 comes to mind.

Where is the lug wrench store in a 2006 Infiniti G35? I recently purchased this car and cannot find where it! The jack is actually in a small compartment on the left wall. I lifted the mat and I only see a spare tire.

A: lift up the mat in the trunk and you will see the spare tire, the jack and all the other accessories. The lug wrench should be near the jack.

I bought a 2006 silver Inifiniti G35. It has 19" wheels, navigation, black leather, etc, so I'm not looking to make many appearance/entertainment mods, other than a sub. I'm looking for any ideas for performance modifications that can be made? FYI, I just bought it and have no intention of selling it anytime in the next 10 years. So, I really don't care about the resale value, this is just going to be a fun toy for me to play with.

A: Buy an intake system, full exhaust, chip the car, Headers, and if you're going to want to get some serious power, a turbo system, or supercharger. If you'd like more details, with either what brans to buy, or if you don't want trouble with passing emissions, than do a cat-back exhaust system.
